hi!

I’m Caarin, a handknitwear designer. I learned to knit and crochet as a little girl from my Grandma Charlotte.  To be honest, I never finished a single knitting project I started before I was 10. Instead, I spent my childhood tearing through every other craft project I could get my hands on - I hooked rugs, baked shrinkydinks, made macrame plant holders, gimp bracelets, and endless zigzag chains out of chewing gum wrappers.

After a brief hiatus [of 25 years!] I picked up my knitting needles and never let go.  Inspiration is everywhere - from the ornate architecture in my New York City neighborhood to the sun shining through the needles of a pine tree. I’m crazy for texture, bold silhouettes, and I am endlessly fascinated by color.

During the pandemic, I released 10 Tiny Knits - a collection of knits for little ones. My designs have also been published in Pom Pom Quarterly, Twist Collective, 60 Quick Kid Knits, and Quince & Co's Scarves Etc.

I teach! And I created a fun little video series of tutorials during Covid called knitable. Learning to knit can be quite confusing!! This series was meant to help my students remember what I taught them in person so that they could do their homework for the next class.

These days I am working full throttle on developing caar caar - a line of knits for little ones. I’ve knit up a big pile of fresh designs and I’m on my way to launching a little brand.
